Lemon Detox Drink

You can do this for the week if you wish. I find it very refreshing to have more energy. Feel like I have done something really good for my body. I don't fast when I do this Detox but I do like to do a good 10 days of it with a clean diet.

  • 2 Tablespoons Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup Grade B
  • 1/10th Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 8 fl Oz's Pure Water

Mix all of the ingredients together in a glass and enjoy! Initially you may find the cayenne pepper a little hot, especially if you are not used to spicy food but this is something that you also become accustomed to very quickly.

You'll need to drink a minimum of 6 detox drinks throughout the day. Somewhere between 8 - 12 is ideal. Make sure that you are also drinking plenty of fresh pure water throughout the day too.

The drink is best made fresh each time that you want to drink it but this sometimes isn't possible, especially if you are heading off to work. To try and maintain the cleaning power of the lemon enzymes, make a concentrate of the maple syrup and the lemon juice and just add water when you want to drink it.

If you were planning on drinking 3 drinks whilst you were out, you would need to make up a concentrate of 6 tablespoons of lemon juice and 6 tablespoons of maple syrup.
To make life easier on yourself, take 3 separate bottles of water each containing 8 fl Oz's of pure water but with the capacity for 10 fl Oz's as you will be adding your concentrate to it.
You'll need to pack a tablespoon for measuring and your cayenne to add at the end. (you can add 3/10ths of a teaspoon of cayenne to the concentrate but cayenne tends to get hotter when it hits liquid and is left for a period of time).

Once you're ready for a drink, just get your concentrate out and give it a good shake, then measure 4 tablespoons into the bottle, add your cayenne, shake and drink!

I do this while still eating all my meals. I just make sure that I am eating organic, free range, and all natural food.

  2. Honey grading
In the US, honey grading is performed voluntarily based upon USDA standards. The quality of honey is graded based upon a number of factors including: soluble solids, water content, flavor, aroma, clarity, absence of defects, and color. The honey grade scale is:
    Grade A - Good
    Grade B - Reasonably Good
    Grade C - Fairly Good
    Substandard - Poor, Failing

  4. I know there are a lot of detoxification properties to lemons, but I was wondering if you know the benefits of using cayenne pepper and honey? Do they detox as well?

  6. It's great to do for general healh but when it come to weight loss detox is a nice added help. Our bodies get toxic with ramdon things like artificial colors, flavors... Our body needs to flush it out and a detox helps that happen faster.

    1. Fresh is best from what I have heard due to all the vitamins that are in fresh squeezed lemon juice.

  9. Just a question- I am recording all of my food intake right now. I'm using honey for the detox drink instead of syrup and it's 60 calories a tablespoon! So should I include this in my calorie limit and lower my food intake?
