4.WARM-UP this is a must before you workout!

It will hurt.
It will take time.
It will require dedication,
It will require willpower.
You will need to make healthy decisions.
It requires sacrifice
You will need to push your body to it's max
There will be temptations.
But I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's
WORTH IT!

WEEK 1 TIGHTEN AND TONE
Lose weight slowly with small changes
Try to remember that "losing 15 pounds in two weeks" is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat. Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight. Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 1-2 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories. By making small changes like eliminating 250 calories a day from food and expending 250 calories a day from exercise, you can lose one pound (of mostly fat) per week.

IT MAY PAIN YOU TO CONTINUE BUT IT HURTS MUCH WORSE TO STOP

WEEK 2 BRING IT!
Drink Water. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily. Limit soda and caffeine drinks.
Eating slowly can lead to weight loss. Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy and savor every tasty morsel.

A healthy breakfast is an important part of a balanced diet, and provides some of the vitamins and minerals we need for good health. Wholemeal cereal, with fruit sliced over the top is a tasty and nutritious breakfast.

WEEK 6 I'M TOO SEXY FOR WEAKNESS
Cut down on saturated fat and sugar.
We all need some fat in our diet. But it’s important to pay attention to the amount and type of fat we’re eating. There are two main types of fat: saturated and unsaturated. Too much saturated fat can increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood, which increases your risk of developing heart disease. Saturated fat is found in many foods, such as hard cheese, cakes, biscuits, sausages, cream, butter, lard and pies. Try to cut down, and choose foods that contain unsaturated rather than saturated fats, such as vegetable oils, oily fish and avocados. For a healthier choice, use a just a small amount of vegetable oil or reduced fat spread instead of butter, lard or ghee. When you're having meat, choose lean cuts and cut off any visible fat.

WEEK 8 EXTREME TEAM CHAMPION!

How Can I Prevent Gaining Lost Weight?

Keep the following tips in mind:
  • Do not skip meals. Skipping meals can slow your metabolism down. Skipping meals can also cause overeating later in the day.
  • Weigh yourself once a week. Monitoring your weight will help you stop weight gain from occurring by creating the awareness. You may not always feel a difference in how your clothes fit. To ensure you are eating healthy, keep an accurate food journal. Write down everything you eat or drink. Be honest and accurate, otherwise the journal is not as helpful. The food journal will help you realize when higher calorie foods are being included more frequently then they should. Recording when you exercise (and how long) will also help you to look at trends. Are you gaining weight because you are eating the same but stopped exercising?
  • Eat a variety of foods to get all the nutrients you need.
  • Include choices from whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean protein sources.
  • Be sure to get plenty of activity every day. Physical activity is one of the most important aspects of keeping weight off, so do your best to keep active every day.

  6. cuzpeeps,

You are lucky you don't have to go any where and you're an EXTREME TEAM member now because you want in. So welcome to the TEAM!!! All you have to do is be ready to exercise from home or gym. Be checking back the day before the Sunday before for Monday's exercise. It will be put up one day ahead so you know what you need to exercise with. Also I added a list of tools that would be helpful on my Goddess Workout Page under the 8 Week Beach Body Plan.

  88. I'm just finding this!!! I wish I would have found it a couple weeks back when it started :( I'm going to start Monday and add it to my regular 4 mile run and Kettlebell training :D (That's not to much is it?) I run 5 days a week, an hour per day (roughly 4 miles), on an elliptical because it's winter here. And the Kettlebell training I do is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. My Kettlebell training only lasts 2 more weeks, so I can finish that and then continue to focus on this :)

  95. Since one day might be legs and one might be abs, is that all we are doing? If one day is abs, don't do legs also? Can we do cardio on top of these workouts?

  96. Do we repeat the weekly workouts for week 5-8? I wasn't sure cause I didn't see a link for those weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I just wasn't sure since I read somewhere on your blog saying don't workout the same muscles for at least 48 hours.

    1. This is true but the way I built these workouts it shouldn't case any issues with muscle recovery. Good question.

  98. So I'm in...kinda scared, but I think I can manage it during nap time, normally the little guy is always under foot. I'm excited that it isn't running, running is so hard on my knees, but I want the endurance it can bring.

  104. Will this help me lose weight? I'm sure it will, but I have a lot of weight to lose and I want to keep it off. Should I wait a couple months of exercising every day to start this?

  106. I am doing these workouts everyday and I absolutely love them!! I have a question though. Is the elliptical a good cardio workout? Like if I decided not to run one day, would the elliptical be a good alternative? I just wasn't sure how effective that machine was. Thanks!

  107. I'm down! Getting bored with the usual workouts and I want something to make my husband sweat and a challenge for both of us.

  108. The more I read of your blog the more motivated I am! Just wondering if swimming (lengths) counts as cardio? Would it be beneficial to swim 1 hour twice a week and run 30 mins three times a week?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Michelle,
Thank you so much for pretty much everything that's on your blog! I can't wait to get started this afternoon. I was wondering which order you would suggest completing your workouts in?
Also is it too late to get into shape for the summer?
I previously used the wrong methods to lose weight fast which resulted in an eating disorder, and although I maintained my ideal weight eating healthily again for over two years, the past two years I have gained quite a bit! I want to lose weight permanently, healthily and happily, and increase my fitness levels to extremes! Looking forward to starting this journey with you!

  112. I'm ready for Extreme! Following the meal plan for my "8" Body Type is going to be the hardest part. It's hard for me to eat 2 meals a day, needless to say snacks too. I'm not a fan of protein and I usually eat once a day. I know it's my downfall. Unfortunately I never educated myself on the importance in giving my body the fuel it needs and I've suffered because of it. I'm ready to be healthy. Show me the light, Michelle!

  113. I am getting married after summer and want to start getting in shape and can not wait to start this program. I hope it works for me and I hope I have the motivation to finish all 8 weeks. I can't wait to see results!

  115. I have been doing this program for a week now and I love it! I just have a quick question. What are some good workouts to work your love handles (and behind love handles) and the sides of your body (by your ribs)? I feel like that is a part of my body I am having a hard time toning.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Just found your site and love the posted workouts!! I have no problem going to the gym and doing my cardio but then when I do my weight lifting I kinda just wander around doing various things until I just get bored and leave! I like being told what to do in the gym!! I don't want to think about it...just do it! I look forward to trying the 8 week bikini workout!!

  123. Was wanting to start this soon, just had my fifth child, am 26, waiting for UID placement on the 29th of this month. How long should I wait to recover prior to starting? I've been printing off the workouts and getting an exercise book ready for the day I am able to start, just thought I'd ask your opinion on a good start date! Your blog is amazing, easy, and clean. Thank you, Elizabeth Ashley

  127. Hey Michelle! I'm just reading through this program and I love it already!!! Unfortunately, I only have 4 weeks to get this bikini body! I'm very much in shape and I'm consistently working out, trying new regimes and programs. Do you suggest I do Weeks 1-4 or Weeks 4-8 for the best results?? I look forward to your input:) Thnx!
